30 Years of Happy Tails: A Thank You to Our Clients, Friends, and Followers
As we honour 30 wonderful years at Happy Tails Pet Resort, we’ve been reflecting on everything this place has become, and more importantly, everyone who helped make it what it is.
Back in 1996, this all started with a dream: to create a safe, joyful place for dogs to just be dogs. A place where they could run, swim, rest, and feel completely free. No cages, no stress - just acres of natural independence, nourishment, stimulation, instinct, pleasure, and comfort. Spacious parklands, beautiful ponds, and the kind of love and care every dog deserves.
It’s never just been about the land and facilities, though. What makes this place special is the community of people and animals that have made it their own.
To the dog parents who have trusted us, some of you for many, many years, thank you. You’ve not only supported a small Canadian business, you’ve allowed your pups to experience something rare and meaningful. Watching them arrive with tails wagging, knowing they’re exactly where they’re supposed to be, is the greatest reward we could ask for.
To the dogs themselves, our guests, our friends, our wild-hearted muses, thank you for teaching us so much about joy, presence, resilience, and unconditional love. Each dog who visits leaves their paw print on this property and in our hearts.
To the incredible helpers who have joined us through our work exchange program over the years: your hands, your hearts, your stories and skills have shaped this resort as much as any fence or pond. You’ve worked hard, and brought fresh energy and perspective to this place. Thank you for showing up, not just for the work, but for the mission.
Running a small business with big values in today’s economy comes with its fair share of challenges. There are hard days and periods of stress. But every time a dog leaps into the pond, curls up for a contented nap, or howls into the wind with a new best friend, it reminds us why we do this. Our guests, human and canine, make it all worth it.
Here’s to three decades of muddy paws, joyful barks, loyal friendships, and the quiet kind of magic that lives between dogs and the people who love them.
With deep gratitude,
Lisa, and the whole Happy Tails Team.
PS - As a heartfelt thank you, we’d love to offer something in return.
