She has instructed adults and youth at OFSS and FQMECA club events, and taught private lessons for OFSS. She helped bring the 2017 International Federation of Sleddog Sports, Winter World Championship, to Halibruton Ontario, where she competed and placed as top North American female in two events. She also competed at the IFSS 2015 Dryland World Championships in Bristol QC, and IFSS World Championships in Germany, Alaska and Norway. Feb 24,25 Full day clinic Saturday, fun race Sunday (if we can get proper insurance)

COST [all online payments have HST added to them] at least $140.00 per day for Karen would be ideal (I think I have changed my mind every time I think about it, but this is specialized work, so I don’t want to short change myself for spending 9 hours at Happy Tails most days I am there and for the work like this I will put in on the side –phone calls about equipment etc). So I suggest Private lessons be 50$, People pay $40 for up to 5 in a group lessons, and $30 for up to 10 in a group lesson. Full day clinic can be $80 per person. Race fees can be 20$ per class. 6 lesson package 150$ per person, 3 lesson package 75$per person

HOW TO REGISTER  - is that done on the Happy Tails website- SURE. Where does that 'email confirmation of registration' go to-HAPPY TAILS. Who’s email address Happy Tails and then forward to Karen????? (So Karen knows what is going on too) ON THE REGESTRATION SHEET there should be the following. What do you have or will you buy (Dog Harness, skate skies, classic skies, ski boots, wax, bungee line, ski belt for you to wear, fat bike, kicksled) What are you hoping to rent? for the sports you want to do (eg. if you don’t want to ski you don’t need the ski stuff) Dog Harness, bungee line to connect you and your dog for skiing, skate skies, classic skies, ski boots, ski wax,  ski belt for you to wear, kicksled, fat bike. If we are going under OFSS insurance people will also have to register to be a member of OFSS for 30$ I can handle this when people come and collect the fees, they just have to be prepared to bring it. At the same time they could sign the OFSS waver.

(For the fun race you must have your own skijor equipment, you need to pre arrange fat bike and kicksled rental if you don’t have your own. If we are under OfSS insurance people will have to be a member of the OfSS for 30$. )

EQUIPMENT What is provided and what is not (stated above)? Where can one buy and/or rent what is needed (skies and fat bike can be rented at AO, kicksleds can be rented from Lisa, people can be pre arranged with Karen to buy harnesses, skijor lines and belts that are top of the line Non-Stop brand equipment. AO sells ski equipment, Karen rents harnesses and lines also that can be pre arranged with clients. People that need equipment should likely contact Karen by phone??

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS for DOGS: Gear, Clothing, Food, Vaccines

You should have rabies vaccine and parvo. Bring a blanket for your dog if it easily gets cold for it when it is in the car, or standing around. Have a crate for your dog in the car that you can put straw in (if your dog chews blankets) or blankets in and a blanket over, when you need your hands free. Don’t feed your dog a lot of food before it runs. Give the food after. Give your dog extra water on workout days. Check with your vet your dog is okay to take on athletic activity.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS for OWNERS: Gear, Clothing, Food, You should wear layers of clothing including wicking layers for underneath –poly propylene, and warm and windproof layer that can be removed. Warm mitts for sledding are especially important. Warm gloves are best for fat bike. Make sure your ski boots or winter boots have room to wiggle your toes when you are wearing warm socks. More than your big toe touching the end of your boot = cold toes. Bring snacks if you get cold easily. Make sure you have all the gear you are supposed to have or have arranged diligently for rental.

LEGALITY / WAIVER / LIABILITY; Where does one sign? If we do insurance for OFSS I have a waver that is signed when people pay their 30$ membership to OFSS.  If we do it some other way, one needs to be made.

CANCELLATION POLICY  No idea what you do for this. I have never done cancellation before because I collected money when the people came. Also, if we can’t arrange a better insurance for OFSS (or work with the OFSS insurance and comply in the most logical way), the only thing I can likely do is teach lessons, as an instructor though Yours Outdoors (they will take 15% of the fee we charge to customers), and I won’t be able to lead a fun race. Lisa you will have to check with your insurance company that it is okay for these activities to take place on your property while I am under Yours Outdoors insurance as an instructor. It may be worth  looking into what insurance you can get for these activities on her property anyway. I am currently working with OfSS insurance company on a better insurance. AT this time everyone on the site where an OFSS event is taking place must have their OFSS membership with essentially no exceptions.

EMERGENCY CONTACT; People should put their emergency contacts on their registration form for Happy Tails.
